King Karl for Shu Uemura

Following in the tres fashionable footsteps of Markus Lupfer, Karl Largerfeld is set to collaborate with beauty demigod Shu Uemura to create a one-off line of Christmas cosmetics for the brand.

King Karl and the late Mr. Uemura were friends of mutual admiration for over twenty years, so the collaboration comes as no surprise, particularly as Karl has previously made a foray into the beauty world with his Karleidoscope perfume and make-up collection for Sephora. 

Monsieur Largerfeld has even said he sketches his designs using Shu Uemura eyeshadows, saying, I design with Shu Uemura makeup because other manufacturers do not offer such beautiful colours”.

There’s been no word on what treats we have in store but we’re envisaging some beautiful palettes of pretty, painterly colours and, as it’s Shu Uemura, some fabulous, fluttery eyelashes.

Karl Lagerfeld for Shu Uemura is set to be a collection entirely in homage to the late Uemura, with the colour selection, packaging and visual campaign all created and envisioned by Largerfeld himself.
