I am selling three beautiful early 19th century imari tea saucers. Each saucer is beautifully decorated with the typical imari bright orange chrysanthemum flowers & lotus blossom with foliage highlighted with gilt & inky blue designs. Some of the leaf designs look very much like oak leaves. The saucers all have an elegant wavy edge & the background colour is white Each of the saucers are fully decorated & all ring true to the touch. None of the saucers have any identifying marks to the base. My thought is that these saucers formed part of an early Coalport imari patterned tea set dating from the 1820s & not all of the pieces of a tea set were marked. Each saucer has a diameter of 15 cm & has a height of 2.75 cm. These saucers are very decorative pieces & would make a lovely addition to a decorative scheme. The quoted price is for the three saucers. This item has had a previous life & may show signs of wear & tear commensurate with age.
